Are You a Person of Action?

History records both the bold and the timid, but we remember the bold. We remember them for the actions they have taken in becoming a success or indeed on their journey to success.

Action is not a process it is a choice you make, you are either a man of action or not. You have to tell yourself this everyday, 'I am a person of action, I get things done', as this literally spawns action. 97% of the population when faced with this decision will sit down in front of the television. A 3% leader is always willing to take action, seize the moment and move when faced with the choice to do something or nothing, they act.

What holds a lot of people back, that is, 97% of the population, is fear. The hardest part of any new venture is firstly the decision and then secondly taking the first step, but with each step we become less fearful and eventually the fear disappears and is replaced with confidence and wisdom. Consistent action will destroy the barrier of fear, it may always be there because we have been programmed for so long to believe so, but no longer is it making a problem in your life. But you must be consistent, all manner of good things begin to flow in your direction once you begin to take action.

Identify 5 places in your life from today where fear will no longer be a problem for you because of action. Sometimes massive action is required, at others it is the simple steps, consistently taken that help to achieve success and conquer fear. It is not always going to be easy, some fears are deeply embedded into our psyche, which simply requires more action on your behalf. Stepping out of the comfort zone that has been built, forcing yourself to go out and do something different and learn something new will bring with it many new experiences. To do whatever it takes and follow through to get what you want involves time, honesty and discipline, keep it simple and have a simple game plan, but choose to act and act now.

Action creates a wave, a wave people want to ride, it has everything to do with your leadership as well. As a leader people watch what you do, not what you are going to be, and if you don't move then no-one will watch. Sometimes the choices we make are not good, but we have the ability to change them and make it better, so we create a wave people do want to ride. Leading is doing, using the resources available to you to take action, creating opportunities for yourself by facing fears and getting out of your comfort zone. Where fear had once denied your progress your actions have enabled you stand up and be counted.

Remember, though the game plan may be simple, you must be in it to win. People who win this game take action in the face of fear, they are better off because of the steps they made today. Be daring in the face of your fear and challenges, live the big life you desire and achieve your goals by taking the action required, it is surprising really how many people get engrossed in the planning, analyzing and organising stage, yet forget about the implementing stage, the doing stage, the just get it done stage. Do not squander over the past, embrace your decision to take action, in the actions comes the success.
